Weekend Weather Forecast: Rain and Sun Mix Set for Ireland
UPDATE: Ireland is bracing for a mixed weekend weather forecast as Met Éireann warns of alternating spells of rain and sunshine. The weather pattern begins today, July 15, 2023, with heavy rain impacting several regions, particularly in Munster, before clearing up this afternoon.
As of 9:00 AM this morning, heavy bursts of rain are sweeping across Munster, leading to low visibility and damp conditions. However, expect a shift later today, with sunny spells emerging in southern areas by the afternoon, according to meteorologist Alan O’Reilly. He reported:
“More mild rain again this morning, heavy in the South and moving up the country. Some bright spells following though with Southern areas brightening up for the afternoon.”
Tomorrow, Saturday, will see a mix of sunshine and clouds. The morning will start relatively dry in northern and eastern regions, but rain is set to spread nationwide by the evening, accompanied by gusty winds. Highs will reach between 11C and 14C during the day, with widespread rain expected on Saturday night, potentially leading to localized flooding.
By Sunday, initial scattered rain and drizzle will give way to mostly dry conditions for the latter part of the day. Temperatures will range from 12C to 14C as the skies clear, providing a brief respite from the unsettled weather.
In summary, expect a dynamic weather pattern this weekend with significant rain, particularly affecting southern and western areas. Met Éireann advises residents to remain alert for sudden weather changes and potential flooding in vulnerable regions.
Stay tuned for further updates, and ensure you’re prepared for whatever nature has in store this weekend!
