West Donegal Homes Face 30-Hour Water Outage Amid Maintenance
UPDATE: Residents in West Donegal are currently experiencing an alarming 30-hour outage of running water, a situation that has left many feeling frustrated and desperate. The interruption, attributed to ongoing maintenance works, was not communicated to the affected residents, raising concerns over the lack of notification.
Local councilor Cllr Michael McClafferty reported that he was unaware of the maintenance schedule until residents expressed their distress. “People are at their wits’ end,” he stated during a recent interview. “Communication must improve to prevent such situations in the future.”
As of November 6, 2025, residents have had to cope without this essential resource, impacting daily routines and raising health concerns. The lack of water has prompted many to seek alternative solutions, including reliance on bottled water and temporary storage methods.
Authorities need to address this issue urgently, as residents continue to voice their frustrations over the inadequate communication surrounding the maintenance works. The situation has not only disrupted everyday life but has also sparked a growing sense of community unease.
Residents and local leaders are calling for immediate action to resolve the water issue and prevent future outages. As this situation develops, residents are hopeful for a swift resolution and a return to normalcy.
Stay tuned for updates as local officials work to restore service and improve communication with the community.
