Delta Air Lines Launches Delta Locals to Enhance Travel Experience

Delta Air Lines has introduced a new digital travel planning tool called Delta Locals, aimed at enhancing the travel experience for its customers. This innovative platform, which offers curated recommendations from local residents, will initially include destinations such as Dublin as part of its global rollout. The announcement was made during the CES 2025 technology conference in Las Vegas, marking the beginning of the airline’s centennial year.

The Delta Locals platform is designed to provide travellers with authentic insights and personalized trip planning assistance. Users will have access to expert recommendations from people who live in the destinations they wish to explore, allowing for a more enriched travel experience. Alicia Tillman, Chief Marketing Officer at Delta, expressed the company’s vision: “Delta’s goal for our next 100 years of travel is to be so much more than just your airline. We’re your one-stop shop for dreaming, planning, booking and arriving at a city on your bucket list.”

The phased rollout will begin in autumn 2025, featuring content from four initial destinations: Los Angeles, Tokyo, Patagonia, and Sicily. As the program develops, additional cities including Dublin, Austin, and Curacao are expected to join the platform throughout 2026.

The primary objective of Delta Locals is to connect travellers not just to their flights but also to the unique experiences that each location offers. By integrating local knowledge into travel planning, Delta aims to ensure that visitors can explore destinations in ways that traditional tourist guides may overlook. This innovation aligns with the airline’s broader strategy to redefine the travel experience in its second century of service.
