Explora Journeys Partners with Clarendon Fine Art for Unique Onboard Experience
Explora Journeys, the luxury ocean travel brand of the MSC Group, has announced a significant partnership with Clarendon Fine Art, a prominent contemporary art gallery. This collaboration aims to enhance the onboard experience across the Explora fleet by providing guests access to museum-quality art and unique purchasing opportunities while at sea. The partnership was unveiled at a private event held at Clarendon’s flagship gallery in London’s Mayfair earlier this week.
This alliance marks a new chapter in Explora Journeys’ commitment to its philosophy of ‘Ocean State of Mind’, which emphasizes mindful exploration and cultural enrichment. Clarendon Fine Art has become the first concession partner aboard Explora’s ships, with a dedicated space known as the Galleria d’Arte on Deck 5 of both EXPLORA I and EXPLORA II. Here, guests can immerse themselves in a carefully curated selection of artworks, showcasing pieces from renowned modern masters alongside innovative contemporary talents.
Anna Nash, President of Explora Journeys, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “This collaboration allows us to expand the cultural dimension of our Journeys in a way that feels both authentic and deeply enriching. Art has always been at the heart of the Explora Journeys experience—an expression of taste, heritage, and discovery. Together with Clarendon Fine Art, we can offer our guests something truly exceptional: the opportunity to engage with and acquire gallery-grade works of art in a sophisticated, private setting.”
The onboard art experience will feature an impressive array of works by iconic artists such as Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, and David Hockney. Guests will also encounter contemporary voices like Mr. Brainwash, known for his bold, subversive artworks that merge pop culture and street art, and Christian Hook, the Sky Portrait Artist of the Year, celebrated for his emotive style.
Every piece displayed in the Galleria d’Arte, from large paintings to fine art photography, will be available for purchase. To keep the experience fresh and engaging, the collection will undergo overnight art rotations, encouraging guests to revisit and discover new pieces throughout their journey. Once a selection is made, Clarendon Fine Art ensures a seamless global delivery service, managing each acquisition with care and professionalism.
To further enhance the cultural experience, Clarendon Fine Art will implement an Art Luminary and Enrichment Programme. This initiative includes expert-led seminars that explore various topics, such as emerging art trends and the emotional impact of visual art. These sessions, lasting between 30 to 45 minutes, are tailored for both seasoned collectors and newcomers, aiming to deepen guests’ connections to the art they encounter.
With this partnership, Explora Journeys not only elevates the onboard experience but also reaffirms its dedication to providing a rich cultural journey. As guests set sail to captivating destinations, they will now have the opportunity to engage with and acquire exceptional artworks, transforming their travel experience into a journey of artistic discovery.
