Virgin Atlantic Joins Forces with Virgin Voyages for 2025 ITTN Awards
Virgin Atlantic is set to co-sponsor the 2025 ITTN Travel Awards, joining Virgin Voyages as a joint headline sponsor. The awards ceremony will be held on November 28, 2025, at the Clayton Hotel on Burlington Road, marking an important event in the Irish travel trade calendar.
Expressing enthusiasm for their role, Virgin Atlantic stated, “We are proud to be the joint headline sponsor of the ITTN Travel Awards for the fourth consecutive year. Supporting the Irish travel trade is incredibly important to us; it’s a community like no other.” The airline emphasized its commitment to celebrating the achievements of those in the travel industry during this standout event.
Enhancing Connectivity and Experience
As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen ties with the Irish market, Virgin Atlantic has announced new routes and enhancements aimed at providing customers with more travel options. Starting in 2026, Irish travelers will enjoy seamless connections via London Heathrow to two new high-demand destinations: Seoul, South Korea, and Phuket, Thailand.
This expansion reflects Virgin Atlantic’s commitment to meeting customer needs and enhancing the overall travel experience. The airline plans to further upgrade its fleet, introducing 10 Airbus A330neo aircraft and refreshing its existing Boeing 787-9 aircraft over the next three years. These updates will feature modern interiors and more spacious Premium cabins.
In addition to expanding its network, Virgin Atlantic is also focusing on onboard innovation. The airline will introduce complimentary, high-speed Wi-Fi powered by Starlink from the third quarter of 2026, allowing passengers to stay connected while traveling.
Team Developments and Continued Support for the Irish Market
Virgin Atlantic has also made a notable addition to its team with the appointment of Max von der Hagen, who joins the commercial team from IAG. While he will not directly interact with customers, von der Hagen will play a crucial internal role in supporting the Irish market, collaborating closely with Celene Duffy, the Key Account Manager for Ireland.
The airline recognized the contributions of John Price, who has played an instrumental role in supporting the Irish travel trade. Though Price is transitioning to new projects within the company, Virgin Atlantic expressed its gratitude for his dedication and impact in the market.
As Virgin Atlantic prepares for the 2025 ITTN Travel Awards, the airline remains committed to fostering relationships within the Irish travel community while continuing to innovate and enhance its services. The collaboration with Virgin Voyages underscores the importance of celebrating the vibrant and dynamic nature of the travel industry.
