Strictly Star Thomas Skinner Admits to Cheating Regret

Thomas Skinner, a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing, has revealed he cheated on his wife, Sinead, just weeks after their wedding in May 2022. The 34-year-old businessman described the incident as the “biggest mistake of my life,” and expressed deep remorse for his actions during an exclusive interview with The Sun.
Skinner admitted to a brief affair with Amy-Lucy O’Rourke, a beauty clinic owner, whom he met in a pub. He characterized the encounter as a “two-week fling” that began soon after his marriage. “It was nothing more than that,” he said, emphasizing that it was a moment of poor judgment. He recalled the guilt that engulfed him after the affair, stating, “I woke up feeling absolutely terrible about it.”
The couple shares a four-year-old son and has recently welcomed identical twin girls, who are now two. Skinner reflected on the painful moment he confessed to his wife about his infidelity, acknowledging that he felt immense guilt and sadness for betraying her trust. “I let her down in that brief moment of madness where I wasn’t thinking,” he said, adding that he was grateful Sinead chose to forgive him.
In their relationship since 2018, Skinner described Sinead as the “love of his life” and credited her support for his accomplishments, including his rise to fame on BBC’s The Apprentice in 2019. He noted, “I’m so lucky she forgave me. My wife is my rock. She’s the person I adore more than anything in the world.”
Despite the turmoil caused by his actions, Skinner has expressed a desire to move forward positively. He emphasized the importance of honesty and taking responsibility for one’s mistakes, stating, “The best advice I can give anyone is to be honest and own up.” He believes that their relationship is now stronger than ever and that they have overcome the challenges posed by his infidelity.
As he prepares for the upcoming season of Strictly Come Dancing, Skinner is determined not to fall victim to the so-called “Strictly Curse,” a phenomenon where contestants’ relationships often suffer during the competition. “I’d never get a second chance with my wife,” he remarked, highlighting his commitment to their marriage and family.
Skinner’s journey from a market trader in East London to a television personality has been shaped by both his successes and failures. He has appeared on various shows, including Celebrity MasterChef and 8 Out of 10 Cats, while also engaging with fans through motivational content.
The weight of his past decisions remains heavy on Skinner, particularly the loss of a close friend, which he believes contributed to his misguided choices. He stated, “Grief can make you do daft things,” acknowledging that his emotional state at the time played a role in his actions.
In his candid remarks, Skinner aims to convey that mistakes, while deeply regrettable, do not have to define one’s future. He is focused on his family and cherishes the moments they create together, such as family dinners and outings. As he embarks on this new chapter in his career, he is hopeful about the future and determined to make Sinead proud.
