BREAKING: Authorities have made a significant breakthrough in the case of Daniel Aruebose, a three-year-old boy who went missing over four years ago in north County Dublin. This morning, skeletal remains were discovered in a marshy area along the Portrane Road in Donabate, following a shocking admission from his mother.

In a troubling turn of events, Daniel’s mother initially told gardai that he was dead but did not reveal the location of his body, instead directing them to ask his father. However, after further questioning, she confessed that she and her then-partner had buried him in a secluded area, approximately 4 km from their previous home at The Gallery.

On September 1, 2023, she led investigators to the burial site, where she expressed her relief upon the discovery of the remains days later on September 6, 2023. According to sources, she was “visibly relieved” when the skeletal remains were found, confirming her earlier claims.

The investigation has revealed that Daniel’s parents maintain he died in his sleep from natural causes. They reported discovering him “ice cold” in his bed, after which they panicked and buried him in a shallow grave. The couple allegedly dug the grave with their hands in the marshy ground shortly after his passing.

The search for Daniel’s remains began on September 2, 2023, and continued until the recent discovery. Detectives believe the skeletal remains are likely those of Daniel, who would now be seven years old. A formal identification process, including DNA analysis, is underway, alongside a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.

The scene remains preserved as officials await the arrival of a State pathologist and a forensic anthropologist. Sources indicate that despite the developments, investigators do not plan immediate arrests, choosing instead to await further examination results.

The Garda investigation is being spearheaded by a Senior Investigation Officer based at the Swords Garda Station, supported by various teams including Crime East DMR North and a Divisional Scenes of Crime Team.

Authorities continue to appeal for public assistance in their investigation into Daniel’s disappearance, urging anyone with information to contact the Swords Garda Station at 01 6664700 or the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111.
