BREAKING: In a swift operation by An Garda Síochána, two men, fugitives from the UK, have been arrested in Dublin. These individuals had been on the run for several months after absconding from HMP Springhill in England on June 23.

Authorities from Thames Valley Police, the largest non-metropolitan police force in England and Wales, had issued a public appeal for assistance in locating these fugitives, who are known to have connections to both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

The arrests occurred during an intelligence-led operation earlier this week, targeting an organized crime group linked to multiple burglaries across Ireland. Garda sources confirm that the men, aged in their 20s and 30s, were apprehended as part of ongoing investigations into a series of burglaries that took place in County Tipperary, Limerick, and Wexford in August 2025.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána stated, “Two males were arrested as part of ongoing investigations into a number of burglaries that occurred in County Tipperary, Limerick, and Wexford.” The younger suspect has already appeared in court in County Offaly on an outstanding warrant, while the older man remains in custody. He is currently detained at a garda station in County Tipperary under the provisions of Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007, allowing for detention without charge for up to seven days.

As investigations continue, Thames Valley Police has been informed of the recent developments. This operation not only highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat organized crime but also emphasizes the international cooperation in tracking down fugitives.

Stay tuned for more updates as this story develops. The arrest of these fugitives marks a significant breakthrough in the fight against crime across both the UK and Ireland, with authorities committed to ensuring safety and justice.
