URGENT UPDATE: Sister Anne Healy, an Irish missionary, is calling for immediate support from the people of Kilkenny to fund the renovation of a vital special needs center in the Philippines. After celebrating 25 years of dedicated charity work, Sister Anne has returned to Ireland and is reaching out for donations to help complete this crucial project.

Sister Anne, originally from Killenaule, Tipperary, has spent decades working with the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary in Cebu, Philippines, where her organization has been active since 2000. The center aims to provide essential educational, training, and employment opportunities for adults with special needs, specifically targeting 45 students, seven of whom currently require wheelchairs.

“We are the only group of nuns in the area dedicated to this cause,” Sister Anne stated. “We have started the building, but we urgently need more donations to complete the project.” The center promises to offer inclusive education, livelihoods, and health services to marginalized young adults with developmental disabilities.

Sister Anne’s commitment to this mission began when she joined the Sisters of the Sacred Heart at the age of 19, making her first procession in 1972. She is set to celebrate her Diamond Jubilee in 2028, marking a lifetime of service and dedication to those in need.

This appeal is not just about raising funds; it’s about changing lives. The center, once completed, will be a beacon of hope for many families in Cebu. As Sister Anne emphasizes, “We need the community’s support to ensure these adults can lead fulfilling lives with dignity.”

For those wanting to contribute to this life-changing initiative, further information can be found at www.sshjmcebu.org. Immediate action is crucial as the project progresses, and every donation counts in making a lasting impact on the lives of these young adults.
