Irish Rugby Stars Shine at Oasis Concert in Croke Park

Oasis performed to a packed Croke Park on Saturday night, marking their first concert in Ireland in 16 years. The event attracted hundreds of thousands of fans, including several prominent figures from Ireland’s rugby scene, who attended alongside their partners.
Among the rugby stars were former players Rob Kearney and Brian O’Driscoll. Kearney attended with his wife, Jess Redden, while O’Driscoll was accompanied by his partner, Amy Huberman. The couples were spotted enjoying the atmosphere and shared moments on social media. O’Driscoll even captured a memorable photo of Kearney dancing, humorously commenting, “Definitely Maybe was still s****ng his pants when this album came out!”
Kearney and Redden expressed their excitement for the concert, with Redden posting on Instagram, “What a night. If you’re going tonight, have the best time – iconic show!”
The event also saw Johnny Sexton reuniting with his former rival, English international Owen Farrell. Sexton attended the concert with his wife, Laura, while Farrell was joined by his partner, Georgie Farrell. The two couples shared a photo together, highlighting the camaraderie that transcends their competitive histories on the rugby field.
Another notable figure present was Cian Healy, who attended the concert with his wife, Laura Smith. Healy shared a selfie from the venue as the iconic band took the stage, marking a significant return for Oasis since their last performance in 2009.
Despite the festive atmosphere, some attendees reported ticketing issues. Several fans in standing areas claimed they were allowed entry but were not provided with wristbands, which are essential for accessing certain sections. This led to delays as they were stopped from entering the standing area, creating frustration among concertgoers.
Video footage from the concert showed fans still arriving at the pitch even after Oasis had begun their performance. Further complications arose during the show, as planned pyrotechnics for the finale failed to launch due to a technical issue. Nonetheless, the overwhelming sentiment from attendees was one of joy, with many describing the experience as unforgettable.
With a second sold-out concert scheduled, anticipation remains high among fans eager to witness Oasis light up Croke Park once again. The energy of the night, combined with the presence of Irish rugby icons, created a memorable atmosphere for all in attendance.
