Jen Zamparelli Shines as The Narrator in Rocky Horror Debut

Jennifer Zamparelli made a striking debut in the iconic Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre in Dublin on October 23, 2023. The television host, known for her role on Dancing With The Stars, captivated audiences as The Narrator, earning accolades from friends and colleagues who celebrated her performance.
Zamparelli, 45, transformed her usual sequins into striking fishnets and a red velvet blazer, embracing the playful nature of her role. The performance featured the beloved “Time Warp,” where she showcased her vocal talents alongside the energetic cast. Her on-stage presence was described as “sensational,” with fellow co-host Doireann Garrihy attending the opening night and sharing her enthusiasm on social media.
In an Instagram post, Garrihy praised Zamparelli, exclaiming, “What a show! Thank you for the invite. @jenzamparelli you are a rock(y)star!!” The excitement was echoed by Adam Byrne, the producer of Dancing With The Stars, who shared a clip of Zamparelli’s performance, stating, “Rocky Horror Picture Show was incredible!! @jenzamparelli was the perfect choice for The Narrator. She played a blinder!”
The opening night also attracted attention from various personalities, including Dublin drag queen Davina Devine, who called Zamparelli “absolutely amazing.” Media personality James Patrice captured a front-row moment, affirming Zamparelli’s impactful stage presence.
Prior to her performance, Zamparelli expressed her excitement and a hint of trepidation regarding this new venture. Speaking to Her.ie, she acknowledged the challenges of live performance, stating, “It’s so exciting because when I was in radio, I never even had time to consider doing something like this.” She highlighted her desire to embrace challenges that push her out of her comfort zone.
The Irish host noted the differences between live radio and stage performances. “Hopefully from doing live radio and telly it will all stand to be on stage,” she added. Zamparelli encouraged supporters to come out and experience her debut, saying, “So please come and support me!”
As the week progresses, Zamparelli will continue to perform in Rocky Horror Picture Show, bringing her unique flair to the production and earning praise from audiences and critics alike.
