Kneecap Announces Uncensored Live Stream Show from Ireland
Kneecap, the Irish language rap group, has announced a special live stream gig set to take place on October 10, 2023, from a secret location in Ireland. This performance aims to unite fans worldwide in a show of “defiance and solidarity.” The announcement follows the group’s recent appearance at the Electric Picnic festival and a notable court appearance by member Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh in the UK.
The live stream will be broadcast globally at 9:00 PM EST (6:00 PM PST), ensuring that fans from various time zones can participate. Additionally, the show will be screened at the historic Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, New York, where fans can gather to experience the event together on a giant screen.
Kneecap expressed their determination to continue performing despite external pressures. They stated, “We were not willing to allow this British witch-hunt stop us from playing to tens of thousands of fans across the US.” The group has emphasized that the show will be “fully live and uncensored,” aiming to provide an unfiltered experience for their audience.
Tickets for the live stream are priced at approximately €13 and can be purchased online. Each ticket holder will receive a unique screen-printed poster upon entry, adding a special touch to the event. The group has indicated that further details regarding support acts will be announced in due course.
In their social media announcement, Kneecap called out to “USA Fenians… and Fenians across the world,” inviting them to join the performance as a moment of unity. The group’s commitment to their fans, particularly in the United States, reflects their desire to overcome challenges and continue sharing their music.
With a blend of cultural pride and contemporary music, Kneecap aims to create a memorable event that resonates with audiences globally. As the countdown to October 10 approaches, anticipation builds for what promises to be a significant and impactful performance.
