Limerick’s Paudie Moloney Declines Hug Challenge on The Traitors Ireland

In a recent episode of *The Traitors Ireland*, contestant Paudie Moloney became the center of attention for refusing a hug that could have led to murder. During the challenge hosted by Siobhán McSweeney, Paudie and his fellow traitor, Nick, were tasked with eliminating a contestant through a farewell hug — a task that Paudie humorously declined.
Instead of executing the deadly embrace, Paudie stated, “I’m not being smart here, but I am not a ******* hugger.” This unexpected refusal added an entertaining twist to the popular reality show, where contestants must navigate deception and strategy to secure their positions.
In the same episode, faithful contestant Christine initiated a hug with Nick, ultimately sealing her fate in the game. The episode also saw the elimination of IT analyst Mark, who was murdered, while faithful contestant Patrick was banished after a roundtable vote deemed him a traitor.
Paudie’s strategy earlier in the episode involved coercing Nick into joining him as a traitor. By threatening Nick with elimination, he ensured that he would have an ally in the game. This move exemplifies the high-stakes environment of *The Traitors*, where loyalty and betrayal are constantly in flux.
The episode also featured a successful mission that added €3,000 to the prize pot, bringing the total to €26,900. For this challenge, half of the contestants ventured into a nearby forest to listen for the “sound of the spirits.” They then had to replicate this sound at a phone box, aiding the other half in locating a doll within the castle that sang the same tune.
As the competition heats up, the dynamics among contestants continue to shift, keeping viewers engaged and guessing who will emerge victorious. The blend of strategy, humor, and unexpected twists makes *The Traitors Ireland* a compelling watch for fans of reality television.
