Urgent: Leaving Cert Results Set for Release on August 22

URGENT UPDATE: More than 60,000 students are preparing for the release of their Leaving Certificate results on August 22, 2023. This pivotal moment marks the end of second-level education for these students and sets the stage for their next steps toward higher education.

Results will be available on Friday, August 22, starting at 9am in schools, while students can access their results online beginning at 12pm. As excitement builds, many will turn their attention to the CAO offers scheduled to begin the following week.

FIRST ROUND CAO OFFERS: Students can expect their first round of offers to be released on Wednesday, August 27, at 2pm. These offers can be accessed online through the CAO website and will also be communicated via text message and email.

For students who have applied for both level six/seven and level eight courses, it’s crucial to remember that they can only accept one offer. If a student receives their first choice, it will be their sole offer. Lower preference offers could lead to higher offers in subsequent rounds.

WHAT IF YOU DON’T GET AN OFFER? Students who do not receive an offer in the first round will be sent a ‘Statement of Application’ via email. This document will provide essential instructions for checking the data CAO has on file.

DEADLINE FOR ACCEPTING OFFERS: Students must accept their round one offers by 3pm on Tuesday, September 2. Immediate acceptance is advised, as confirmation emails will follow promptly.

WAITING FOR ANOTHER OFFER? If you decide to accept a lower preference offer, you still have a chance to receive offers for higher preferences in later rounds. Accepting a new offer will automatically cancel any previous offers.

SECOND AND THIRD ROUND OFFERS: The second round of offers will be available on Monday, September 8, at 2pm, closing on Wednesday, September 10, at 3pm. The third round will be released on Tuesday, September 16, at 10am, and closing on Thursday, September 18. Finally, the fourth round is set for Tuesday, September 23, at 10am, with a closing time of 3pm on September 25.

ELIGIBILITY FOR SUSI: Students eligible for the SUSI grant do not need to contact SUSI directly; the CAO will notify them of course acceptances. If a student chooses a course outside of the CAO framework, a ‘course change notification’ form must be submitted through their SUSI account.
