Online Player in Mayo Wins Ireland’s Third Largest Lotto Jackpot

A player from Mayo has emerged as the winner of Ireland’s third largest Lotto jackpot, claiming an impressive €17,008,295 in the draw held on August 27, 2025. This significant victory marks a milestone in the history of the National Lottery, which began in 1988.
Mayo has solidified its reputation as a hotspot for lottery winners, having previously produced the highest jackpot of €19,060,800. With this latest win, the county has now accounted for both the top and third highest jackpots in Irish history. The online winner in Mayo joins an elite group as the seventh jackpot winner of 2025, which includes winners from Louth, Dublin, Kerry, Limerick, Kilkenny, and Waterford.
The winning numbers from Wednesday’s draw were: 2, 6, 20, 22, 26, 39, with the Bonus number being 5. In a statement, Darragh O’Dwyer, National Lottery spokesperson, expressed excitement about the win. He said, “We’re absolutely thrilled to announce that the third largest Lotto jackpot ever, an eye-watering €17,008,295, has been won by an online player in Mayo.”
The National Lottery has confirmed that the lucky winner has been notified via email and is encouraged to contact the prize claims team at 1800 666 222 or email [email protected] to arrange for the collection of their prize.
As part of the celebrations, the Lotto draw has also resulted in a total of over 93,000 players winning various prizes in the Lotto and Lotto Plus draws. This win not only adds to the excitement surrounding the game but also highlights the ongoing popularity of the National Lottery in Ireland, which continues to create millionaires year after year.
Mayo residents are hopeful that this win may bring further luck to the county, as they await the return of the Sam Maguire Cup in Gaelic football. With this latest jackpot, the National Lottery proudly announces its 17th millionaire of the year, solidifying its impact on communities across Ireland.
