Join the Adventure: Letterkenny Scout Group Welcomes New Members

The Letterkenny Scout Group is inviting new members to join its ranks as it opens registration for the upcoming 2025/2026 Scouting year. Interested individuals are encouraged to attend an informational meeting at Alcorns, Letterkenny (F92 H763) on September 5, 2025, at 19:00. While children are not required to be present, this meeting will outline the registration process for various scouting sections, including Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts.
The Beavers section is designed for children aged 6 to 8 years, with participants needing to be at least 6 years old by the 1st of September. Cubs are for those aged 9 to 11, while Scouts cater to older youth aged 12 to 15. The group has noted that availability is limited and depends on the number of qualified leaders.
In addition to welcoming new members, the Letterkenny Scout Group is on the lookout for volunteer leaders for all sections. Training will be provided for those who may not be familiar with the Scout Method. For more information about scouting practices and leadership, prospective leaders can visit www.scouts.ie.
The group serves children not only from Letterkenny but also from surrounding areas such as Newmills, Glenswilly, Gartan, Churchill, Creeslough, Kilmacrennan, Ramelton, Rathmullan, Milford, Manorcunningham, Newtowncunningham, and Convoy. Regular meetings are held every Friday at 19:00.
For inquiries about membership fees or further details regarding the registration process, interested parties can reach out via email at [email protected]. The Letterkenny Scout Group offers a unique opportunity for personal development, outdoor adventures, and community involvement, making it an exciting choice for families in the area.
