CLIA Cruise Week Launches with Incentives for Over 3,000 Agents

The annual CLIA Cruise Week UK & Ireland commenced today, showcasing a variety of trade incentives aimed at travel agents. The event, which runs until September 21, 2023, features participation from over 40 cruise lines, offering rewards to agents for their engagement and bookings throughout the week.
Incentives available to agents include entries into sweepstakes for prizes such as cruises or concert tickets, gift bags, hampers, and opportunities for familiarization trips. Additionally, agents can earn high street vouchers and points as part of rewards provided by select cruise lines for completing online training modules or participating in live quizzes.
Engagement and Recognition Initiatives
CLIA has partnered with participating cruise lines to provide prizes for agents who actively support Cruise Week. Categories for recognition include best window or shop display, social media campaigns, internal training events, customer-facing events, and overall campaign contributions. Agents can find a comprehensive list of individual cruise lines and their specific incentives on CLIA’s dedicated Cruise Week webpage: https://trade.cruising.org/uk-ireland-clia-cruise-week. This page also hosts six webinars titled “Get Ready for Cruise Week,” where supporting cruise lines share details about their incentives and latest news.
With over 3,000 agents signed up, CLIA Cruise Week aims to promote awareness of cruising within the trade sector. The week continues the #BeyondExpectations theme introduced at the CLIA Conference in May, emphasizing the diverse opportunities in the cruising industry.
A highlight of the week is “The UK’s Biggest Cruise Event,” scheduled for tomorrow, September 16, 2023. This event will see agents and cruise lines engage in customer-facing events, internal training, ship visits, and the launch of social media campaigns. The combined efforts aim to facilitate the largest cross-agent cruise gathering in history, with more than 1,000 agencies expected to participate.
Andy Harmer, Managing Director of CLIA UK & Ireland, expressed gratitude for the enthusiastic response from agents and cruise line members. He stated, “We’ve had a phenomenal response to CLIA Cruise Week from both agents and our member cruise lines. With the opportunity to win a range of incredible rewards, as well as boost sales insight and know-how across the week, it’s the perfect moment for agents to showcase the diversity, value, and unforgettable memories cruising offers.”
To join the conversation and stay updated, participants are encouraged to use the hashtags #CLIACruiseWeek and #BeyondExpectations.
