Abbeygate Properties Proposes 98 New Homes in Kilkenny

A significant housing development is set to take shape in South Kilkenny as Abbeygate Properties Ltd has submitted a planning application to Kilkenny County Council. The proposal encompasses the construction of 98 new residential units along with a crèche facility in Abbeygate, Ferrybank. This initiative marks Phase 3 of a broader masterplan aimed at addressing the growing housing demands in the region.
The proposed plan features 44 housing units, including 30 three-bedroom, two-storey semi-detached houses and 14 four-bedroom, two-storey semi-detached houses. Additionally, the development will comprise three apartment blocks, which will house a total of 54 units.
In line with modern living standards, the project will also provide ample car parking and bicycle parking facilities, contributing to sustainable transportation options in the area. The inclusion of a crèche facility further enhances the appeal of the development, catering to families and fostering community integration.
As housing shortages continue to challenge many regions, this development in Kilkenny represents a proactive response to meet local needs. The planning application process will now undergo review by Kilkenny County Council, with public feedback being an integral part of the decision-making process.
This ambitious undertaking not only aims to provide much-needed housing but also seeks to enhance the overall community infrastructure in South Kilkenny. As details emerge, residents and stakeholders will be keenly watching the progression of this project.
