Kilkenny Senator Receives Hilarious Swear Jar from Intern

UPDATE: In a heartwarming and humorous farewell earlier this week, Kilkenny Senator Malcom Noonan was gifted a unique parting present by his outgoing intern, Jane. The token, a creatively crafted swear jar, was intended to help curb the use of “unparliamentary language” in their office.
Senator Noonan shared the amusing moment, stating, “In an effort to cut down on the use of unparliamentary language around our offices, she presented me with a swear jar as a parting gift. It’s working well; I swear.” This quirky gift has not only lightened the mood but has also become a memorable symbol of Jane’s time in the office.
The Senator expressed deep appreciation for Jane’s contributions during her internship at Leinster House, where she gained invaluable experience. “Jane was an invaluable part of our team in Leinster House over the past few months on an internship from Trinity College. Míle buíochas Jane. It was wonderful to have you here and contributing so much to our work,” Noonan remarked.
This lighthearted exchange highlights the camaraderie and positive impact interns can have in political settings. Jane’s experience, according to Noonan, is expected to serve her well as she continues her studies and embarks on her career journey. “I know that your talents will shine wherever life takes you,” he added, leaving a touching message for his departing intern.
As Kilkenny’s political landscape continues to evolve, the memorable moments shared between the Senator and his team remind us of the human connections that thrive even in formal environments.
