Auditions Open for Glór Tíre Season 22: Ireland’s Next Country Star Awaits

The search for Ireland’s next country music star has officially commenced with the launch of auditions for the 22nd season of Glór Tíre. This beloved television show will air on TG4, Ireland’s national Irish language station, from January to March 2025. Aspiring artists across the nation are encouraged to showcase their talents in hopes of being crowned the next big name in country music.
Donegal’s Rich Legacy on Glór Tíre
Donegal has established a notable presence on Glór Tíre in recent years. In 2024, Jason McCahill from Ramelton emerged victorious, while Chelsea Evans from Dunfanaghy also made a strong showing by reaching the grand final. The following season, two talented singers from the Inishowen Peninsula, Jack Larry and Michaela Harkin, participated, with Larry advancing to that year’s final.
This season, the show will be presented by Aoife Ní Thuairisg, with familiar faces Jó Ní Chéide and Caitriona Ní Shuilleabháin returning as resident judges. The production is managed by Galway-based company Gael Media, known for its commitment to promoting Irish talent.
Audition Details and Requirements
Country and Irish music singers in Donegal are invited to audition by submitting a video or YouTube link of themselves performing a song. Entrants must include their contact information and a brief description of themselves in their submission, which should be sent to [email protected]. The deadline for entries is set for midday on October 8, 2025. Applications received after this date will not be considered.
To participate, contestants must be over 18 years of age as of June 1, 2025, and must not be under contract with a manager or management agency. All entries will be uploaded to a dedicated YouTube channel for review by the show’s mentors, who will select their contestants from the pool of submissions. Notably, videos submitted via Facebook or other social media platforms will not be accepted.
By entering the competition, participants grant permission for their videos and contact details to be shared with the production team and other necessary parties involved in the show. Additionally, the submitted videos may be used for promotional purposes related to the series.
Successful entrants will need to be available for all recording dates, which include November 11 and 12, 2025, and February 24, March 3, and March 10, 2026, as well as any promotional events deemed necessary by the production team.
The search for talent is on, and Glór Tíre is eager to discover the next star of Ireland’s country music scene. Aspiring artists are encouraged to take this opportunity to shine and make their mark in the industry.
