Doctor Offers Simple Solutions to Combat Winter Sweating

In her latest video, Dr. Arora highlights how the combination of indoor heating and additional layers of clothing can lead to overheating. “Winter sweat is so real,” she states, pointing out that factors such as stress and environmental conditions can exacerbate the problem. She explains that maintaining an optimal body temperature is essential for restful sleep, as a cooler body temperature signals the brain to prepare for slumber.
Understanding Antiperspirants vs Deodorants
Dr. Arora stresses the need to distinguish between antiperspirants and deodorants. “Antiperspirants actually help to block the sweat and reduce the sweat, whereas deodorants just help to neutralize the odour you get from sweating,” she clarifies. This distinction is crucial for individuals seeking to effectively manage their winter sweating.
For those dealing with excessive perspiration, Dr. Arora recommends specific products. She endorses Driclor antiperspirant for its effectiveness in significantly reducing sweat production. Another product she highlights is Perspirex, known for its ability to control excessive sweating. Dr. Arora advises consumers to check the labels on spray products, ensuring they include the term “antiperspirant” rather than just “deodorant.”
Product Recommendations and Tips
Dr. Arora’s advice extends to ingredient considerations. She mentions that antiperspirants containing aluminium are typically more effective at reducing sweat. However, for those who prefer aluminium-free options, she suggests using deodorants such as Bionsen, which can help neutralize odours but will not prevent sweating.
In addition to product selection, Dr. Arora offers practical tips for application. “If you’re using something that’s an antiperspirant for sweat, use it at night. It’ll work overnight and help to reduce that sweat by the morning,” she advises, emphasizing the importance of timing in maximizing the effectiveness of these products.
