Dublin Horse Show Celebrates Best Dressed Winners with Cash Prizes

The winners of the Best Dressed awards at the Dublin Horse Show have been revealed, showcasing the vibrant intersection of fashion and equestrian culture. This year, over 420 entrants participated in the competition, held at the Royal Dublin Society (RDS) on August 12, 2023. Judging the event were Bairbre Power, fashion editor of the Irish Independent, and renowned designer Aoife McNamara.

Nadine King from Donnybrook, Dublin, claimed the top prize in the Best Dressed category, walking away with a cash award of €10,000. King dazzled the judges in a striking ensemble that included a hat by AnedeCoco, earrings from One Dame Lane, a choker by Costume, a dress by Agua Bendita, a bag by Loewe, and shoes from Zara. Expressing her excitement, King stated she felt an immediate connection to her dress: “I was absolutely thrilled to have won the competition.”

Celebrating Individuality and Style

The Best Hat award went to Mariess McCarthy from Cork, who received a luxury hospitality voucher valued at €2,000. McCarthy’s hat, designed by Sinead McKenna, captivated the judges, with Power noting it was “just beautiful, like a satellite” in the crowd.

In the Best Dressed category, Janette Kelly from Galway earned the runner-up position. Kelly’s prize included a hotel package comprising a two-night stay at the five-star Morrison Hotel in Dublin, a two-night stay at The Trafalgar St James in London, and a €100 airline voucher. Her elegant attire featured a two-piece dress with a detachable cape by Roisin Linnane, complemented by a hat from Edel Ramberg and accessories from a local boutique in Wexford.

Another highlight was the new Irish Heritage & Sustainability Style award, awarded to Danielle Crowley. This accolade comes with a two-night stay at Rowan Gate Lodge in Mount Congreve Gardens, County Waterford, along with a €1,500 voucher for a wardrobe by Jack Murphy.

The dynamic duo of Gillian and Raymond Gilbourne from Cork were recognized as the Best Dressed Duo, receiving an overnight suite stay for two, dinner at the Bishop’s Buttery, and a €100 voucher for The Boutique at Cashel Palace.
