Man Pleads Guilty to Online Threats Against Simon Harris and Family
URGENT UPDATE: A man has just pleaded guilty to making an online threat to kill or harm Simon Harris, Ireland’s Tánaiste, and his family. In a dramatic court appearance on Tuesday, Patrick Grealish (48), residing in Garraí An Choirce, Leitir Mealláin, admitted to the charges stemming from threats made in August 2022.
The hearing took place at the Doire an Fheich District Court in Co Galway, where Grealish was remanded on bail, with his next court date set for December 2023. The decision was made to allow for a probation report and a victim impact statement to be prepared, underscoring the seriousness of the case.
According to court proceedings, Grealish was arrested after making threats intended for Harris to believe he and his family would be harmed. Under the conditions of his bail, Grealish is prohibited from accessing all social media and the internet.
