Special Stamps Launch Tomorrow to Celebrate Druid Theatre’s 50th

URGENT UPDATE: Tomorrow marks a significant milestone as two special stamps will hit the market to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Druid Theatre Company. The unveiling took place today at the Mick Lally Theatre in Galway, featuring designs that showcase renowned actors Marty Rea, Aaron Monaghan, and Marie Mullen.
Designed by Atelier David Smith, these stamps come with original photography by Matthew Thompson. Both stamps, along with a limited-edition envelope, will be available for purchase starting tomorrow at main post offices and online at anpost.com/druid, with free delivery options.
In an emotional moment, Druid Artistic Director Garry Hynes received a framed version of the stamp today at Druid Lane. Hynes expressed, “It’s an honor to be part of this celebration, reflecting on our journey and impact over the past five decades.”
This launch not only commemorates the rich history of the Druid Theatre but also enhances community engagement, inviting both long-time supporters and newcomers to celebrate the arts in Galway.
