Urgent Resurfacing: Dromore Road Closed in Donegal Until Friday
UPDATE: The busy Dromore Road connecting Crossroads and Killygordon in Donegal has been officially closed for urgent resurfacing work. This closure is effective from 8am to 6pm, starting today and continuing through October 20, 2023.
Drivers are being warned that no through traffic will be allowed on this vital route during daylight hours. Local residents will retain access, but all other traffic must find alternative routes. SLG Traffic Management has announced that local traffic will be diverted via Liscooly, while heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) will need to reroute through Stranorlar.
This resurfacing project is critical for improving road safety and conditions for commuters and residents alike. With the closure occurring during peak hours, motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly to avoid delays.
As this situation develops, local authorities are urging drivers to remain patient and considerate of the ongoing works. The community’s cooperation is essential to ensure the project is completed efficiently and safely.
Stay tuned for further updates as we monitor the situation closely. For now, drivers in the area should prioritize alternative routes to navigate around the closed section of Dromore Road.
