Wrightbus Partners with Kazenmaier to Boost Zero-Emission Buses
BREAKING NEWS: Wrightbus has just announced a pivotal partnership with Kazenmaier to accelerate the transition to zero-emission transport in Germany. This collaboration aims to simplify the switch for operators, leveraging Kazenmaier’s leasing expertise and public funding integration.
The announcement comes as Wrightbus continues its commitment to carbon-free travel with its leading hydrogen and battery-electric bus fleets. Already deployed with operators including Saarbahn, Cottbus, West Verkehr, and Vestiche, Wrightbus emphasizes that its success in Germany is crucial for its global expansion strategy.
Wrightbus CEO Jean-Marc Gales stated, “This partnership with Kazenmaier delivers significant added value. We already have hydrogen and electric buses operational, complemented by on-site service and nationwide fleet support.” The collaboration aims to provide competitive leasing solutions that will enable operators to embrace zero-emission technology effectively.
Kazenmaier CEO Max E Nastold highlighted the importance of accessing state and federal subsidies, which can significantly lower emissions and operational costs for public transport operators. “Our joint goal is to put the public transport transition into motion,” Nastold said. “By combining technological excellence with financial accessibility, we are transforming sustainable mobility from a vision into a reality on Germany’s roads.”
Wrightbus has dramatically transformed since its rescue from administration in 2019, growing from just 49 employees to over 2,300. This expansion has also secured an additional 7,500 jobs in the UK supply chain. The company has diversified its offerings, adding after-sales and repowering divisions and becoming part of a larger group that provides depot charging solutions, alternative energy supplies, and net-zero financing.
Gales remarked on the company’s resilience, stating, “In a tough market, we have thrived, creating thousands of jobs, raising product quality, and delighting passengers.” He pointed to a significant investment of £25 million in research and development, which has led to the launch of new products including a coach, a 6 x 2 double-deck bus, and a re-powered truck, with orders rolling in from the UK, Germany, and Asia.
As Wrightbus and Kazenmaier embark on this promising venture, the public transport landscape in Germany is set for a revolutionary shift towards sustainable mobility. Stakeholders and operators are encouraged to watch for further developments as this partnership unfolds, potentially reshaping the future of public transportation in the country.
