Man Dies in Traffic Incident on Busy Tipperary Road

A man in his 40s tragically died following a traffic incident on the Old Dublin Road in Nenagh, Tipperary, on the evening of August 6, 2025. Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 22:10 local time, where they found a single vehicle outside a premises. The driver was discovered unresponsive and received immediate medical treatment.
Despite efforts to revive him, he was later pronounced dead at University Hospital Limerick. The local Coroner has been notified, and a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the circumstances surrounding his death.
Investigation Underway
In response to the incident, Gardai have initiated an appeal for witnesses to come forward. They are particularly interested in speaking with road users who may have been in the area between 21:00 and 22:30 on the same night. Dashcam footage from any vehicles traveling along the R445 is encouraged to assist in the investigation.
A Garda spokesperson stated, “Gardai are appealing for witnesses following a fatal traffic incident on the R445 at Nenagh, Co. Tipperary. The scene was preserved for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.”
The road was temporarily closed to facilitate this forensic investigation but has since reopened to traffic.
