Chloe Burrows Exits Celebrity SAS After 38 Hours, Shares Experience
Chloe Burrows has openly defended her decision to withdraw from Celebrity SAS after just 38 hours, describing her experience as “hell.” The former contestant from Love Island was part of a group of twelve recruits on the Channel 4 series currently airing in the UK. Burrows’ exit came after a challenging start, during which she expressed that she was “violently under-prepared” for the physical and mental demands of the show.
After a steep hike during the training, Burrows decided she had “had enough” and handed in her armband, officially withdrawing from the competition. She was joined by fellow contestant Tasha Ghouri, who also cited mental unpreparedness as a reason for her departure and has since refrained from discussing the show publicly.
In a recent episode of her podcast, Chloe Vs. The World, Burrows provided candid insights into her brief time on the show. “I left. I quit, because guess what, guys, it’s f**king hell,” she stated emphatically. Her enthusiasm for the program, which she had enjoyed watching with her father, quickly turned to disillusionment. “I thought I’d be quite good… Pete [Wicks] was like, ‘it’s not even that bad’. Pete, you’re a liar,” she remarked, highlighting her misjudgment of the show’s intensity.
Burrows admitted she had worn herself thin prior to filming, having just completed an eight-day stint in Ibiza before committing to Celebrity SAS. She noted that the night before her participation, she had been out late, which contributed to her lack of readiness for the demanding course. Reflecting on the moment she chose to exit, Burrows recalled saying, “all I need is my bed and a vape,” emphasizing her immediate desire for comfort.
Despite her early exit, Burrows confirmed that she was compensated in full for her participation. “Does she still get paid? Yes, I did,” she said, addressing the backlash she received on social media. Acknowledging the criticism, she remarked, “no one can be harder on me than myself,” underscoring her personal disappointment with the situation.
Chloe expressed mixed feelings about her decision, admitting that she should have withdrawn earlier but felt compelled to seize the opportunity for a show she had long admired. “If I was to do it again, I would… I knew I wasn’t prepared, I should have pulled out,” she said, reflecting on her experience with wisdom and regret.
Her honest account highlights the pressures faced by reality television participants and the realities behind the glamour often portrayed on screen. As viewers continue to engage with this season of Celebrity SAS, Burrows’ experience serves as a reminder of the physical and mental challenges that come with such extreme competitions.
