Apple Unveils iPhone 17 Series: Pre-Orders Begin September 12

Apple has announced the upcoming launch of the iPhone 17 series, set to be available for pre-order in Ireland on September 12. The announcement came during a live-streamed event from California on September 5, 2023, where the tech giant unveiled four new iPhone models, a new line of Apple Watches, and upgraded AirPods.
The highlight of the new offerings is the iPhone Air, which Apple claims is its thinnest and lightest model yet. At just 5.6 mm thick, the iPhone Air features a titanium design, making it both elegant and durable. It boasts a ProMotion 120Hz display and is equipped with a 48MP camera capable of delivering cropped photos equivalent to a 2x telephoto lens. Pre-orders for the iPhone Air begin on September 12, with the official release scheduled for September 19. The starting price is set at €1,239.
The standard iPhone 17 model also received notable updates, including a larger 6.3-inch display and new color options. It features the new A19 chipset, promising enhanced performance, and offers users eight hours more playback on a full charge compared to the iPhone 16. Both the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models are equipped with the toughest Ceramic Shield, enhancing durability against scratches and impacts. The iPhone 17 starts at €979, the Pro model at €1,339, and the Pro Max at €1,489, with a new 2TB Pro Max model priced at €2,489.
New Apple Watch Models and AirPods Updates
In addition to the iPhone series, Apple introduced three new Apple Watch models: the Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch SE 3, and Apple Watch Ultra 3. The Series 11 features enhanced health monitoring capabilities, including alerts for potential hypertension using its heart rate sensor. It promises a battery life of up to 24 hours and comes in four aluminum colors, with premium options available.
The Apple Watch SE 3 offers 18 hours of battery life with fast charging capabilities, while the Ultra 3 boasts the largest Apple Watch display to date and supports 5G connectivity, with a battery life of up to 42 hours.
Meanwhile, Apple also unveiled the updated AirPods Pro 3, which introduce heart rate sensing and Live Translation features. With an upgraded IP57 rating, these AirPods are now the most water-resistant yet. Priced at €299, they will also be available starting September 19.
Overall, the latest announcements reflect Apple’s continued commitment to innovation and enhancing user experience, with a focus on improved performance, health monitoring, and design.
