Limerick influencer Shauna Lindsey has disclosed that she recently suffered a stroke and requires heart surgery at the age of 30. The former Miss Limerick took to social media to share her experiences, describing a challenging period marked by both personal struggles and health issues.

During a recent post, Shauna revealed that her summer began with a difficult breakup, which she initially thought was her most pressing concern. However, her situation quickly escalated when she learned that her mother has been diagnosed with cancer. In an emotional message, she expressed the depth of her bond with her mother, stating, “If you know me, you know that my mom is my everything, my best friend—we call each other a million times a day.”

Shauna’s health crisis began unexpectedly during a boxing workout. She recounted the moment when she felt her entire arm go numb after throwing two punches. “It literally felt like my arm was hanging off my body,” she explained, recalling her panic as she struggled to communicate her distress to a friend.

Although she felt better by the time she reached the hospital, a series of tests revealed the underlying cause of her stroke. Medical professionals diagnosed her with a Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO), a condition characterized by a small hole in the heart. “So, they do this test… where if bubbles come up, you might have a PFO, which is a hole in your heart, and lo and behold, your girl has a hole in her heart, so that’s just great,” she shared candidly.

Following her diagnosis, Shauna has been advised that surgery is necessary to close the hole in her heart. She expressed a sense of relief in understanding her condition while also acknowledging the risks involved. “I feel lucky that I know about it,” she said. “I’m obviously a high-risk person, so I need to get that hole in the heart closed up, which is scary.”

After spending eight days in the hospital, Shauna has returned home and is preparing for her surgery, which is scheduled for December 2023. She has urged her followers to keep her mother in their thoughts as they both navigate these challenging circumstances.

Shauna’s story highlights not only her personal battles but also serves as a reminder of the importance of health awareness. As she continues to share her journey, her resilience and openness resonate with many, especially as she faces these life-altering challenges at such a young age.
