Irish Model Shauna Lindsay Shares Stroke Experience During Training
Irish model **Shauna Lindsay** recently opened up about a frightening experience in which she suffered a stroke during a boxing training session. The 30-year-old from **Limerick** shared details of the incident on social media, emphasizing the importance of recognizing symptoms and seeking immediate medical attention.
In a video posted to her followers, Lindsay revealed that a series of personal challenges had weighed heavily on her before the stroke. Among these were her mother’s cancer diagnosis and a difficult breakup. “To be honest, so much has been going on in my life… I’ve just been trying to keep my head down and focus on work,” she explained.
Lindsay described the day of the incident, stating that she was feeling fit and healthy. “I woke up Monday morning, went to boxing, and was doing combos with one of the coaches,” she recalled. During a training exercise, she threw two punches and suddenly felt her arm go completely numb.
“I thought I was so strong that I had just dislocated my own arm,” Lindsay said. After realizing the severity of her symptoms, she rushed to the bathroom, where she experienced an out-of-body sensation. “On the bathroom floor, I genuinely think I had an out-of-body experience,” she explained.
Fortunately, her friend **Christina**, who was also in the class, was able to assist her. Lindsay tried to communicate, but found herself struggling to articulate her thoughts. “I was trying to tell her to get my phone, but the words were not coming out right,” she said.
Upon arriving at the hospital, Lindsay experienced a full recovery, which she described as “creepy.” “The human body genuinely freaks me out,” she commented, reflecting on how quickly her condition changed.
In a follow-up post, Lindsay shared more about the experience, including the moment her arm and face went numb. “Trigger warning for anyone who’s had a stroke. It might not look like much is happening, but it’s mad what can be going on inside our bodies that we’ve no idea about,” she said. She urged her followers to seek medical help if they ever experience similar symptoms.
Lindsay’s story serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of awareness regarding health issues. Her experience underscores the need for individuals to be vigilant about their health, no matter their fitness level. “If you ever experience any of the symptoms, please get to a hospital FAST,” she advised.
As Lindsay continues to navigate her personal challenges, she remains hopeful for her mother’s recovery from cancer. “She’s out of surgery now, so please keep her in your thoughts and prayers,” she shared.
Through her openness about this traumatic experience, Shauna Lindsay aims to educate others and encourage prompt action in the face of medical emergencies.
