Nathan Clohessy Honored as MacCumhaills’ Person of the Year
The annual awards ceremony for Sean MacCumhaills celebrated outstanding achievements among its members, with young Nathan Clohessy receiving the prestigious title of Club Person of the Year for 2025. The event took place at Jackson’s Hotel, where club members gathered to recognize contributions made both on and off the field.
Clohessy’s selection for this honor reflects his unwavering commitment to the club. In announcing his award, a spokesperson for the club stated, “Nathan is a truly deserving winner of this year’s Club Person of the Year award. He is always on hand to volunteer, support, and assist with as many teams as he can. His dedication, reliability, and genuine passion for the club shine through in everything he does, making him an invaluable member of the Sean MacCumhaills community.”
Awards Recognize Diverse Talent Across All Levels
The ceremony highlighted the achievements of players across various teams and age groups. Notable winners included Sean Martin, who claimed the title of Men’s Senior Football Player of the Year, and Fionn McGinty, awarded Young Player of the Year in the same category.
The Men’s Reserve Football awards went to Dougie McDaid as Player of the Year and Evan Sproule as Young Player of the Year. In the Senior Hurling category, Aaron Toner took home the Player of the Year title, while Jacob Malone was named Young Player of the Year.
The Senior Ladies Football awards were equally competitive, with Roisin Lillis earning Player of the Year and Molly Gillespie recognized as the Young Player of the Year. Additionally, Anthony Gallagher was awarded Player of the Year for the Third Team Football, and Conor Murphy was named Young Player of the Year.
This annual gathering not only celebrates individual accomplishments but also fosters a sense of community within Sean MacCumhaills, reinforcing the club’s commitment to nurturing talent and teamwork across all levels.
