Mark Dowling Takes Charge of Naas Hurling Following Success in Kilkenny

Mark Dowling has been appointed as the new manager of Naas Hurling Club in Kildare, marking a significant transition just months after concluding his role as the Under-20 hurling manager for Kilkenny. Dowling, who previously guided the Kilkenny Under-20 team to a Leinster Championship title and an All-Ireland Final appearance in the summer of 2023, brings a wealth of experience to his new position.

Taking over from former manager Tom Mullally, who stepped down following a Leinster Semi-Final defeat to St. Martin’s late last year, Dowling’s appointment reflects a growing connection between the two counties. The Naas club has been dominant in recent years, winning the last seven Kildare Senior Hurling titles consecutively, making it a fitting venue for Dowling to return to club management.

Dowling’s previous experience includes leading his own club, Dicksboro, to a Kilkenny Senior Championship victory in 2017. He has also had a successful stint with Thurles Sarsfields, further enhancing his credentials as he embarks on this new challenge. In his new role, he will be joined by Cian Treacy, who will serve as Head Coach. Treacy has collaborated with Dowling in past positions at both Thurles Sarsfields and the Kilkenny Under-20 team.
