Zendaya Shares Insights About Life in the UK With Tom Holland
Zendaya has recently opened up about her life in the United Kingdom, revealing that she no longer views it as a temporary stop. The American actress and her fiancé, Tom Holland, split their time between the United States and the UK, depending on their work schedules. The couple, who have been together for approximately four years since meeting on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming, is currently preparing for their roles in the upcoming film Brand New Day, which marks their third collaboration in the franchise.
In addition to their work on Brand New Day, Zendaya and Holland will co-star in Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated film, The Odyssey, set for release in July 2024. This exciting slate of projects underscores the couple’s commitment to both their personal and professional lives together.
Speaking to The Mirror, Zendaya addressed the common perception that working alongside a partner can be challenging. Contrary to this belief, she expressed her enjoyment of collaborating with Holland. “On set, he has this huge calming presence that not only puts me at ease but also everybody he works with,” she stated. “I might be a little biased, but he is not only my favourite person; he is my favourite person to work with.”
While much of their professional commitments draw them to Los Angeles, Zendaya feels increasingly at home in the UK. She noted, “But it does feel like a home to me. I don’t feel like a visitor anymore. I understand British slang, I get the culture, and I know a ‘nice cup of tea’ makes everything right.” Her affinity for the country and its people has grown, reinforcing her connection to her life there.
Despite her fondness for the UK, Zendaya humorously admitted to struggling with one particularly beloved British snack: Jaffa Cakes. “They just don’t make sense to me,” she explained, showcasing her playful side and willingness to embrace cultural differences.
As Zendaya continues to navigate her career and personal life, her reflections on her time in the UK offer fans an intimate glimpse into her world. The combination of professional achievements and a growing sense of belonging in a new country highlights her dynamic journey both on and off the screen.
