Ireland Unveils Stunning New T20 Kit for World Cup 2026
Cricket Ireland has revealed its striking new T20 International kit, designed by Macron, which will debut at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 starting on February 7 in India and Sri Lanka. The design draws inspiration from the iconic Giant’s Causeway, one of Ireland’s most celebrated natural landmarks.
Design Inspired by Nature
This marks the fourth year of collaboration between Macron and Cricket Ireland. The new kit captures the rugged beauty of Ireland’s coastlines, notably featuring the distinct hexagonal basalt columns of the Giant’s Causeway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This landmark not only highlights the natural heritage of Co. Donegal but is also central to the scenic Causeway Coastal Route, which connects to the breathtaking Wild Atlantic Way, a 2,500-kilometre stretch along the west coast down to Kinsale in County Cork.
The kit is predominantly green, maintaining continuity with previous designs. The sleeves and shoulders are darker, while a lighter green highlights the three-button collar. Vertical light-blue bands adorn the sides and shoulders. The shirt features an all-over graphic that symbolizes the columns of the Giant’s Causeway, alongside imagery of waves crashing against them. Completing the look are navy blue trousers with white drawstrings and green detailing that echoes the shirt’s design.
Commitment to Sustainability
All garments are crafted from Eco Fabric, a 100% polyester made from recycled plastic, underscoring a strong commitment to sustainability. The main textile, Eco Gotex, has been specifically engineered for match kits, while Eco Mesh inserts provide lightweight comfort and breathability.
Following the World Cup, this kit will transition to serve as the official T20I playing shirt for both the Ireland Women’s and Men’s teams. Macron and Cricket Ireland plan to unveil new One Day International (ODI) and Test match shirts ahead of the summer international season in 2026.
Fans can purchase the new ICC Men’s T20 World Cup special edition kit through the Macron website, with options available in both short and long sleeves, along with a long-sleeved V-neck jumper and a sleeveless vest, all featuring the same striking design.
This innovative kit not only represents the spirit of Irish cricket but also reflects the country’s natural beauty and commitment to environmental responsibility.
