UPDATE: The semi-finals of Dancing with the Stars are here, and Kilkenny’s Katelyn Cummins is poised for an electrifying performance this weekend, battling for a coveted spot in the Grand Finale on March 15, 2024. With the pressure mounting, contestants will showcase their skills with the thrilling theme, “Dancing through the Decades.”

This weekend, the remaining five couples will face their biggest challenge yet, performing individual dances inspired by music from various decades over the last century. After their solo dances, each couple will tackle a second routine in a unique ‘Time Machine Trio’ format, adding an extra professional dancer to the mix. This could dramatically shift the judges’ leaderboard, heightening the stakes for all participants.

Among the contenders, Katelyn and her partner Leonardo Lini will bring a vibrant Charleston from the 1920s to the stage, dancing to ‘Charleston’ by Bob Wilson & His Varsity Rhythm Boys. They will then channel the 2000s with a Samba to Beyoncé’s iconic hit ‘Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)’ alongside pro dancer Alex Vladimirov.

Other notable performances include Tolü Makay and Maciej Zieba, who will perform a dynamic Paso Doble inspired by the 1980s, and Paudie Moloney with partner Laura Nolan, who will take a nostalgic trip back to the 1930s with an American Smooth dance.

As the competition heats up, eliminated couples will continue to be featured in exclusive interviews on Monday mornings, providing fans with insights into their experiences. Dancing with the Stars airs Sundays at 6:30 PM on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player, hosted by Jennifer Zamparelli and Laura Fox.

The stakes are high, as the two couples with the lowest combined scores from the judges and public votes will face off in a dramatic final Dance-Off, with one couple leaving the competition without a chance at the prestigious Glitterball Trophy.

Don’t miss out on this pivotal moment in the series. Tune in on Sunday, March 15, to find out who will secure their place in the finale and ultimately compete for the Glitterball Trophy!
