Kilkenny Writers Anonymous Launches Open Mic Event for All Genres
UPDATE: Kilkenny Writers Anonymous has just announced an exciting open mic literary event scheduled for Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 2 PM in Rothe House, Kilkenny. This is a golden opportunity for writers of all genres and experience levels to showcase their original works, all centered around the theme of “Opening Lines.”
The event, part of the Soap Box City 2025 literary festival, encourages participation from professional writers, emerging talents, and aspiring authors. Attendees are invited to either perform or simply enjoy the diverse literary showcase. Each participant will have five minutes to read their work, including poetry, short stories, and excerpts. Registration will open from 1:30 PM to 2 PM, and best of all, the event is free of charge.
Kilkenny Writers Anonymous, which has fostered a supportive writing community over the past three years, aims to extend this spirit to the broader Kilkenny community. The group is dedicated to helping writers hone their skills while celebrating the art of storytelling in a welcoming environment.
This event is not just a platform for writers but also an engaging cultural experience for the audience. As the Kilkenny Arts Festival approaches, this open mic session promises to be a highlight where creativity meets community.
Prepare to witness the power of words, as local writers take to the stage. Whether you’re a writer or an enthusiast, mark your calendars for this uplifting celebration of literature.
Stay tuned for more updates as the event date approaches, and get ready to be inspired by the voices of Kilkenny!
