Oasis Gears Up for Sold-Out Croke Park Concerts This Weekend

Excitement is palpable in Dublin as preparations ramp up for the highly anticipated Oasis concerts at Croke Park this weekend. The iconic Britpop band, fronted by the Gallagher brothers, will perform two sold-out shows on August 16 and August 17, drawing fans from across the country and beyond.
Concert Details and Ticket Information
Both concerts are set to begin at 6 PM, with gates opening at 5 PM. Attendees are advised to arrive early, as MCD Productions has emphasized that there will be no queuing or camping allowed on site. Concert-goers are encouraged to plan their travel and arrive at least 45 minutes before showtime to ensure a smooth entry.
Tickets for the shows sold out rapidly, and while some resale options appear intermittently on platforms like Ticketmaster, prices can soar to between €400 and €600. The Bank of Ireland has cautioned fans against potential scams related to ticket sales, urging vigilance regarding unusually low prices or pressure tactics.
Support Acts and Travel Arrangements
The concerts will feature British musician and former frontman of The Verve, Richard Ashcroft, as well as the Liverpool indie rock band Cast, both of whom are expected to set the stage for a memorable night of nostalgia.
For those attending, it is crucial to plan return travel in advance. Given the anticipated traffic and parking delays, walking, cycling, or using public transport is highly recommended. The closest Dart stations are Connolly Station and Clontarf Road, with numerous Dublin Bus routes servicing the area. Organizers have confirmed that no public parking will be available, and attendees are discouraged from parking in residential areas.
Security Protocols and Venue Guidelines
Strict security measures will be implemented at Croke Park, with all attendees subject to searches upon entry. No camping chairs, large bags, or any items deemed unsafe—including glass containers and professional camera equipment—will be permitted. Soft water containers are allowed, but all drinks will be transferred to soft cups upon entry.
For those needing assistance, Dublin City Council will deploy its Help Zone van, known as ‘The Nee Naw’, to provide support to concert-goers from 4 PM to 12 AM on both days.
Weather forecasts indicate warm temperatures in the low to mid-twenties, with a possibility of light showers. Fans can expect a lively atmosphere as Oasis is likely to perform many of their greatest hits, including classics like “Wonderwall,” “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” and “Champagne Supernova.”
As the weekend approaches, anticipation builds for what promises to be an unforgettable experience in Dublin. With top-notch performances and a vibrant atmosphere, the Oasis concerts at Croke Park are set to be a highlight of the summer.
