Aer Lingus Expands 10kg Carry-On Baggage Policy to All Regional Flights

Aer Lingus has announced an expansion of its 10kg carry-on baggage policy across all regional flights operated by Emerald Airlines, effective from March 3, 2024. This change responds directly to customer feedback and will apply to the entire Aer Lingus Regional network.

This includes domestic flights within Ireland, flights between Ireland and the UK, as well as various routes to Europe. Customers booking a Plus or Advantage fare with Aer Lingus or Aer Lingus Regional will be able to carry a free 10kg bag on board.

The policy specifies that carry-on bags must not exceed dimensions of 55cm in height, 40cm in width, and 24cm in depth. Additionally, all customers are permitted to bring a small personal item, such as a handbag or laptop bag, which must be stowed under the seat in front of them.

Susanne Carberry, Chief Customer Officer at Aer Lingus, emphasized the importance of this policy in enhancing customer experience. She stated, “Our 10kg carry-on baggage policy is all about giving customers greater choice, convenience, and flexibility.” Carberry noted that the decision to extend the policy across the regional network reflects the airline’s commitment to meeting customer needs.

“Whether it’s a quick business trip or a longer break, our policy ensures all customers have the option to travel with a 10kg bag at no extra cost,” she added.
