Galway Duo Releases Debut Single After Chance Meeting on Street
Musicians Aisling Fuller and Valter Romulo have jointly released their debut single, “Something I Love,” marking a significant milestone in their budding musical partnership. The duo, who met while busking on Shop Street in Galway, Ireland, have blended their diverse backgrounds to create a heartfelt track that celebrates love and connection.
From Buskers to Collaborators
Aisling, hailing from Renmore, and Valter, who moved to Galway from Rio de Janeiro two years ago, first crossed paths in the summer of 2024. Valter recalls that moment vividly, stating, “When I heard Aisling singing for the first time, I was like ‘she’s so brilliant.’” Their chance encounter led to a series of collaborations that would culminate in their recent release.
Their musical journey took a significant turn in the summer of 2025 when Valter presented Aisling with a demo of his work. “I was like ‘wow, I really like that,’” Aisling remembers. This exchange sparked the idea for collaboration, resulting in a partnership that showcases their strengths: Aisling penned the lyrics while Valter took charge of production.
A Heartfelt Collaboration
“Something I Love” is described by Aisling as a “beautiful love song about falling in love and realizing that this person is turning into something that you love.” Valter aimed to encapsulate the essence of love in the song’s composition. “I took this energy and this feeling to produce all the arrangements,” he explains. He structured the song in two parts, with Aisling singing from the perspective of the girl and himself from the guy’s viewpoint, creating a dynamic exchange that resonates with listeners.
Reflecting on their collaborative experience, Aisling expressed her gratitude, stating, “I am so happy to get to make this song with Valter. Finding a producer to turn your vision into exactly what you wanted in a song is very difficult to come across.” She noted that this collaboration provided her with the production quality she had been striving for.
Last year, the duo performed “Something I Love” on the streets of Galway, receiving an overwhelmingly positive response. “The reaction has been really positive; people are interacting with our reels and social media posts,” Aisling shared, highlighting the impact their music has had on the community.
Both Aisling and Valter cherish the supportive atmosphere among musicians in Galway. “I think it’s a really nice atmosphere of musicians, and everybody’s very supportive of each other,” Aisling noted, with Valter agreeing that this camaraderie is a unique aspect of Galway’s artistic scene. He remarked, “It’s a place where all artists support each other… it’s genuine.”
“Something I Love” is now available for streaming on various platforms, including Spotify. Fans can also connect with the artists on Instagram at @aisling.fuller and @valter_romulo.
