Jacob Elordi Auditions for James Bond Role, Sparks Excitement
The race to cast the next James Bond is intensifying as reports indicate that actor Jacob Elordi has screen-tested for the highly coveted role under the direction of Denis Villeneuve. While no official announcement has been made regarding the identity of the next 007, Elordi’s audition has generated significant excitement among fans and industry insiders alike.
Elordi, the 28-year-old Australian star known for his roles in “Euphoria,” Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla, and Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, is emerging as a leading contender. This follows previous speculation that placed him on Amazon’s shortlist for Bond. Should he secure the role, Elordi would become not only the youngest actor to portray Bond but also the tallest, standing at an impressive 6 feet 5 inches (1.96 meters).
Several other actors have been rumored to be in the running for the iconic role, including Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Tom Holland, Harris Dickinson, and Scott Rose-Marsh. Recent information suggested that Callum Turner had already been cast, but Elordi’s recent screen test has shifted the focus back to him.
The anticipation surrounding Bond 26 is palpable, especially given that Amazon now holds full creative control of the franchise. The decision regarding the next Bond is expected to be finalized by mid-2026, with production anticipated to commence in 2027 and a release slated for 2028. This film will mark the first installment of the series following Daniel Craig’s last performance in “No Time To Die.”
Elordi’s rise to prominence has been remarkable. He earned an Oscar nomination for his portrayal of Frankenstein’s creature and won the Critics Choice Award for Best Supporting Actor. His trajectory in Hollywood continues to gain momentum, making him a fitting candidate for the role of Bond.
In addition to the Bond buzz, Elordi is set to appear in the upcoming adaptation of Emily Brontë’s classic novel “Wuthering Heights,” directed by Emerald Fennell. Given the film’s already anticipated release, interest in Elordi is likely to grow, further fueling speculation about his potential as the next 007.
As the Bond franchise undergoes a significant transformation, the choice of the next actor is critical. Villeneuve, known for his visionary work, will helm the project, with the script penned by Steven Knight, the acclaimed creator of “Peaky Blinders.” Fans are eagerly awaiting the official announcement, and as always, the conversation surrounding the next Bond will continue to dominate social media and entertainment news.
Until then, the world watches closely, ready for what could be the dawn of a new era for James Bond.
