Jonathan Rhys Meyers Charms Fans on Late Late Show Special
Jonathan Rhys Meyers captivated audiences during his recent appearance on the *Late Late Show*, which aired on March 13, 2024, as part of its St Patrick’s Day special. The acclaimed Irish actor, known for his roles in *The Tudors* and the miniseries *Elvis*, discussed his return to Ireland after experiencing the devastating loss of his home in the Los Angeles wildfires last year. He has since settled on a farm in Co Wexford.
During the show, Meyers shared his admiration for a new generation of Irish artists, highlighting talents such as Paul Mescal and Jessie Buckley in film, and Kneecap and CMAT in music. He expressed pride in Ireland’s artistic contributions, stating, “While we’re a small island, we certainly punch above our weight when it comes to the arts.”
Meyers, who is in a continual learning process as an actor, remarked on how the creativity and confidence of young Irish performers inspire him. He noted, “I’m astounded by the level of creativity. We’re a small island, but we punch so high above our weight, from an artistic and literary point of view, and from a performance point of view.”
The actor’s return to the public eye has been met with enthusiasm. Viewers took to social media to express their joy at seeing him again, with comments such as, “We need him back on our screens acting,” and “What a marvellous actor, who has come through so much.” One fan highlighted the admiration for Meyers, saying, “An extremely talented Irish actor who doesn’t get enough credit.”
Meyers also reflected on his new life in Ireland following the IFTAs earlier this year, where he confirmed his relocation. He humorously acknowledged his lack of farming experience, stating, “It’s a farm, but I don’t farm anything. I think you have to be born into farming to get it right.” He mentioned that he keeps horses on the property, allowing them to roam freely.
The actor’s journey has resonated with many, as he has openly confronted challenges in his life, including struggles with addiction. His candidness has earned him a wave of support from fans who appreciate his resilience and talent.
As Jonathan Rhys Meyers continues to navigate his career and personal life, his recent appearance on the *Late Late Show* not only showcased his enduring charisma but also reaffirmed his status as a beloved figure in the entertainment industry.
