Limerick Legends Unite for Historic Concert at 3 Arena
Limerick’s music scene is set to shine as local icons, brothers Noel and Mike Hogan of The Cranberries, join the line-up for a historic concert at the 3 Arena on February 6, 2024. They will perform alongside acclaimed artist Dermot Kennedy as part of the “Hot Press History in the Making: The Concert” event. This concert marks their first live performance together since the passing of lead singer Dolores O’Riordan.
This star-studded concert celebrates the 50th anniversary of Hot Press, a prominent Irish music publication. It coincides with the launch of a special limited edition book, “History In the Making: The Book of Hot Press Interviews,” which highlights the publication’s impact on the Irish music scene over the decades.
As part of the event, Niall Stokes, editor of Hot Press, expressed his excitement, stating, “We wanted to make this a historic night for Irish music, and that’s exactly how it is shaping up. The quality of the artists who have come together for this show is absolutely incredible, with different generations and genres all ready to give their all, in what will be a magnificent celebration of Irish music and Irish musicians.”
A Stellar Line-Up of Talent
The concert features an impressive array of artists, including Van Morrison, Imelda May, The Boomtown Rats, The Frames, Damien Dempsey, Clannad, and Picture This. Additionally, upcoming talents like Denise Chaila and Irish Women in Harmony will also take the stage, ensuring a diverse showcase of both seasoned and emerging performers.
Special guests include former president Michael D. Higgins and filmmaker Myles O’Reilly, adding further prestige to this landmark event. Tickets for what promises to be a memorable night are available through Ticketmaster.ie.
The concert represents more than just a gathering of musicians; it is a celebration of the rich tapestry of Irish music and its enduring legacy. With such a vibrant line-up, attendees can anticipate an unforgettable evening that pays homage to the past while embracing the future of Irish music.
