The 2 Johnnies Launch Limited Edition Jersey for Children’s Health
The popular duo known as The 2 Johnnies has unveiled a limited edition jersey designed by Johnny Smacks, with proceeds benefiting the Children’s Health Foundation (CHF). This initiative coincides with their upcoming family show, the Big Big Family event, scheduled for April 6, 2024, at the 3Arena in Dublin. The show aims to raise funds for CHF, an organization dedicated to supporting sick children and their families.
This effort holds personal significance for Johnny Smacks, whose son, JJ, received extensive medical care at Crumlin Hospital shortly after birth. The family’s experience has profoundly influenced his commitment to the cause. “I know first-hand the unbelievable work the nurses, doctors and staff do every single day. The care they give to families is something you never forget,” he shared. He emphasized the importance of the upcoming show, stating, “It’s going to be a great day out with plenty of laughs and fun for the young kids, but the big thing is raising funds for an incredible cause.”
The event will feature The Junior B All Stars, the duo’s backing band, and will begin at 15:00. Special guests such as Garron Noone and Marty Mone are also set to participate, promising an enjoyable experience for families in attendance. All proceeds from ticket sales and the jersey sales will be directed to CHF.
Fionnuala O’Leary, chief executive of the Children’s Health Foundation, expressed gratitude for The 2 Johnnies’ support. “Their generosity in donating all the proceeds from this very special Easter Monday show is truly remarkable and will have a significant impact on sick children and their families,” she stated.
Fans who wish to contribute but are unable to attend the show can still participate by making donations through a link on The 2 Johnnies’ official website. The jersey, produced in collaboration with their long-time merchandise partner, KC Sports, is available for purchase at www.the2johnnies.ie for a limited time.
With the event already sold out, the enthusiasm surrounding the show demonstrates the community’s support for this vital cause. Johnny Smacks expressed appreciation for the overwhelming response, stating, “Thanks so much to everybody who sold out the 3 Arena. As always, the support is amazing. We’re gonna blow the roof off the place and raise a few bob all at the same time.”
