Comedian Matt Rife Acquires World’s Most Haunted Doll, Faces Warnings

Comedian Matt Rife has attracted both excitement and concern after purchasing the world’s most haunted doll, known as Annabelle. Rife announced on social media his intentions to display the infamous doll at the former residence of renowned paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren in Monroe, Connecticut. He aims to transform the property into a venue for overnight guests, challenging them to stay the night in a house steeped in supernatural lore.
Rife’s acquisition of the house, which also houses the Occult Museum, has raised eyebrows, particularly due to the doll’s notorious history. The Raggedy Ann doll’s legend began in the 1970s when it was gifted to a nurse in Hartford, Connecticut. Disturbing occurrences followed, leading the Warrens to take possession of the doll. They placed Annabelle in a specially designed glass case to contain its alleged malevolent energy, issuing a stern warning that it should never be moved.
The doll gained mainstream notoriety through the horror film franchise that includes The Conjuring and its spin-off, Annabelle, released in 2013 and 2014, respectively. This exposure has intensified interest in the doll, culminating in Rife’s plans to invite guests for an immersive experience in the haunted house, which had been closed since 2019.
Concerns from Paranormal Experts
Prominent psychic medium Matt Fraser has voiced serious concerns regarding Rife’s intentions. In an interview with the Daily Mail, Fraser warned that monetizing the doll could unleash “dark, aggressive energy.” He explained that the heightened attention surrounding Annabelle risks awakening energies that should remain dormant. “Every mention and every photo breathes life into something that should never have been awakened,” he cautioned.
Fraser elaborated that spirits tied to such entities are drawn to attention. “The more fascination there is, the more active and aggressive the energy becomes,” he stated. Given these warnings, Rife’s venture could pose risks not only to himself but also to visitors who may be lured by the prospect of an overnight stay at a site marked by its unsettling past.
Rife’s announcement has generated a significant response on social media, with reactions ranging from intrigue to apprehension. Fans of the comedian are eager to see how he will manage the challenges of bringing such a haunted artifact into a commercial space.
As Rife prepares to open the doors of the Warren home, many are left to wonder how this venture will unfold. Will the comedian’s bold move bring new life to the legend of Annabelle, or will it invite unforeseen consequences? Only time will tell as anticipation builds for the re-opening of this haunted landmark.
