RNLI Seeks Volunteers to Support Lifeboat Fundraising in Limerick
The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) is actively recruiting volunteers to join its fundraising group in Limerick. The organization aims to bolster support for its lifeboat services, which are crucial for maritime safety. This initiative invites community members to engage in fundraising efforts and assist in organizing a major charity event in the area.
Connie Kiersey, RNLI Community Manager, emphasized the importance of volunteer fundraising groups, describing them as the “heartbeat of our coastal and maritime communities.” She expressed a desire for individuals in Limerick who are eager to make a meaningful impact. “We’re looking for people with ideas, energy, and a passion for supporting the RNLI. If you’ve ever thought about getting involved, now is the perfect time,” she said.
To provide more information about the RNLI’s fundraising efforts and volunteer opportunities, Kiersey will host an informal drop-in session at the Clayton Hotel in Limerick on March 7, 2024, from 15:00 to 17:30. This event is open to anyone interested in joining the group, hosting an event, or simply learning more about the organization’s activities. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in discussions and ask questions.
For those who are unable to attend the drop-in session but wish to participate, Kiersey encourages interested individuals to reach out directly via email at [email protected].
The RNLI relies on its dedicated volunteers to maintain vital lifesaving services along the coast. Community involvement is essential for ensuring that these services remain operational and effective in responding to emergencies at sea.
