Cork Claims Victory Over Kilkenny in Senior Camogie League

Cork secured their first win of the Centra Senior Camogie League by defeating Kilkenny 0-12 to 0-3 at Pairc Lachtain in Freshford on March 9, 2024. The match marked Kilkenny’s first loss of the season, ending their unbeaten run.

The second half began with renewed energy from Kilkenny, as they quickly drew level with Cork thanks to a pair of pointed frees from Prendergast, along with additional points from Asha McHardy and Sarah Barcoe. Despite this promising start, Kilkenny struggled to maintain their momentum and were only able to add one more point, again from a free by Prendergast, in the 29th minute.

Cork’s defense tightened as the match progressed, preventing Kilkenny from capitalizing on their earlier gains. The Rebelettes effectively controlled the game as they extended their lead, securing a comfortable nine-point victory by the final whistle.

Kilkenny will seek to bounce back in their next match, scheduled for away against Waterford on March 16, 2024. The team aims to regroup and address their performance following this loss, as they strive to regain their winning form in the league.
