Creative Showcase: Acorns to Oaks Exhibition Now Open in Kilkenny

The Acorns to Oaks group has launched a vibrant exhibition at the Mayfair Library in Kilkenny, showcasing the diverse talents of its members. This collective of creative individuals convenes regularly in the Neighbourhood Hall, exploring various art forms at their own pace. The exhibition opened last weekend and will remain on display until February 28, 2024, inviting the public to engage with the artistic expressions of the group.

Participants in Acorns to Oaks delve into a range of mediums, including creative writing, poetry, painting, drawing, felting, and stitching. Each member directs their artistic journey according to personal curiosity and interests, resulting in a rich tapestry of creativity. The group’s commitment to fostering artistic exploration reflects their desire to cultivate a supportive environment where creativity thrives.

The initiative received funding from Creative Ireland in 2025 as part of a broader project known as Living Artfully. This financial support has allowed the group to operate as an independent entity, welcoming new members who joined in 2026. Following a successful exhibition at Borris House last year, the group is excited to present their latest works at the Mayfair Library.

In addition to the current exhibition, Acorns to Oaks will feature new creations in the Learning Centre of the Butler Gallery in April 2024. This upcoming showcase promises to continue the group’s tradition of artistic collaboration and community engagement.
