Letterkenny Pipe Band’s Burns Night Showcase Set for Jan 24

URGENT UPDATE: The Letterkenny and District Pipe Band is gearing up for its highly anticipated Burns Night showcase on January 24, 2024, at Conwal Parish Hall in Letterkenny. Doors will open at 7 PM, promising an evening filled with entertainment that you won’t want to miss!

This year’s event will feature a delightful menu, including traditional stew with neaps and tatties and, of course, haggis. While there won’t be a lavish banquet or flowing whisky, attendees can look forward to a vibrant program of music, song, dance, and comedy.

Tickets are priced at just €15, making it an affordable family night out! Funds raised will support the band as they travel across Ireland and Scotland for competitions this summer. The band also plays a vital role in mentoring young musicians, teaching them the art of playing the bagpipes and drums.

A spokesperson shared, “We have the traditional toast to the haggis, with a dram of orange! One of our younger pipers will pipe in the haggis, and another member will recite the Selkirk Grace before the meal is served. The night will finish with Auld Lang Syne.”
