Man Charged After €100,000 Drug Seizure in Limerick

A man has been charged following a significant drug seizure in Limerick on St. Valentine’s Day. The operation, conducted by the Garda Síochána, involved targeted efforts against drug trafficking in the area. During the operation, investigators discovered suspected cannabis herb valued at over €100,000 at a domestic residence.

According to a spokesperson for the Garda Síochána, officers from the Divisional Drugs Unit at Henry Street Station carried out the intelligence-led operation on February 14, 2024. An adult male, aged in his 50s, was arrested and detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. He is scheduled to appear before the Limerick District Court on February 19, 2024.
